Trik Mempercepat proses shutdown Windows XP

Proses Turn Off Komputer anda lama ? Simak tips berikut untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut tanpa menggunakan software Utility.

1. Klik tombol "Start | Run"
2. Ketik : Regedit
3. Cari key : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
4. Dobel Klik pada nilai : HungAppTimeOut
5. Rubah nilainya menjadi 4000, nilai sebelumnya kemungkinan 5000 atau 20000.
6. Langkah selanjutnya cari key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\ Dobel Klik pada : WaitToKillServiceTimeOut
7. dan rubah nilainya menjadi : 4000

Sekarang tutup jendela regedit dan Matikan komputer Anda untuk melihat perubahan yang dihasilkan.

Menaikkan Bandwith Internet sampai 20 Persen

Microsoft Windows menyiapkan bandwith sampai dengan 20% untuk proses seperti Windows Updates, proses pengecekan PC anda dan proses lainnya.

Agar bandwidth internet kita bisa naik sampai 20% ikuti langkah-langkah     berikut :

1. Click "Start | Run" kemudian ketik ”gpedit.msc” (Tanpa tanda kutip). Perintah tersebut akan membuka group policy editor.
2. Selanjutnya cari item : "Local Computer Policy /Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates / Network / QOS PacketScheduler/ Limit Reservable Bandwidth".
3. Double click pada Limit Reservable bandwidth. Secara default pengaturan di set ke it is not configured tapi sebenarnya nilai standarnya adalah 20 persen, lihat pada tab explain "By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default".
4. Untuk menaikkan bandwith, maka set Limit reservable bandwidth ke "enabled" dan Bandwith Limit (%) menjadi : "0".

Setting ini bertujuan untuk membebaskan 20% bandwith yang digunakan windows dan menaikkan kapasitas bandwith kita 20%. Trik ini berjalan baik pada Windows 2000.

Menjalankan program tersembunyi windows lewat RUN

Menu "Start | Run" pada Windows memiliki banyak fungsi yang bisa jadi menunjang pekerjaan kita sehari-hari di depan komputer,

Pada windows XP, memang banyak fasilitas yang diberikan. Salah satunya adalah CD Burning yang secara otomatis akan terpasang pada saat instalasi. Namun, apabila Anda tidak mempunyai Drive CDR/RW pada PC, fasilitas tersebut akan terasa sia-sia. Untuk menonaktifkannya, manfaatkan saja program registry. Untuk melakukannya, ikuti langkah berikut ini.

Ketik "Regedit" dari menu "Start|Run". Tunjukkan pada entry "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer". Pada jendela kanan klik kanan pilih "New | Dword value", beri nama "NoCDBurning". Klik ganda value baru. Pada kotak isian "Value Data" ketik angka "1". Klik OK dan keluar dari program registry.

Mengembalikan Password User di Windows XP

Pada komputer, terutama jiak komputer tersebut digunakan oleh beberapa user, biasanya terdapat beberapa account user dengan tipe account yang berbeda dalam sistem operasinya. Misalnya administrator, limited, ataupun sekedar guest. Jika suatu saat Anda perlu mengubah sesuatu pada sistem operasi anda, tentu anda perlu mengakses sistem operasi tersebut menggunakan account user administrator atau user dengan hak administrator. Kalau anda ingat password yang anda gunakan, tentu tidak masalah. Tetapi kalau anda lupa password-nya, berikut ini salah satu cara yang mungkin bisa anda gunakan. memang cara ini belum tentu berhasil disemua PC, namun siapa tahu berhasil di PC anda. Berikut langkah-langkahnya :

1. Hidupkan komputer anda dalam keadaan Safe Mode.
2. Setelah tiba di user menu, pilih salah satu user yang tidak diproteksi password atau yang anda ingat passwordnya.
3. Setelah masuk ke sistem operasi, klik [start] > [Run] dan ketikkan "CMD" dan tekan tombol OK atau Enter.
4. Setelah jendela command prompt terbuka, ketikkan "C:\windows\System32" (tanpa tanda petik), dengan asumsi sistem operasi anda terinstal di drive C:\ dan nama folder tempat instalasinya adalah "Windows".
5. Demi keamanan, sebelum mengubah password administrator, ada baiknya anda melakukan backup terhadap file dengan nama logon.scr. Caranya adalah mengetikkan perintah "Copy logon.scr logon.bak" (tanpa tanda petik).
6. Berikutnya adalah ketikkan perintah "copy cmd.exe logon.scr".
7. Untuk mengubah password administrator, dari direktori c:\windows\system32 tadi, ketikkan perintah : "net user administrator 1234". dengan contoh tersebut, password milik user administrator akan dirubah menjadi 1234. Tentunya password baru tersebut dapat anda ubah sesuka hati. Selain itu anda juga dapat mengubah password user yang terdaftar lainnya.
8. Setelah itu dilayar akan muncul perubahan password sudah berhasil dilakukan. Kalau sudah restart komputer anda dan cobalah login dengan user yang telah dirubah passwordnya.

Langkah-langkah di atas merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengubah passaword adaministrator atau user lain yang ada di sistem operasi Windows XP.Jika anda tidak berhasil membuka password administrator windows XP dengan langkah-langkah di atas, masih ada satu jalan pintas lain yang masih bisa anda lakukan. Cara tersebut adalah dengan mereset password administrator menjadi kosong sehingga kita login dengan account administrator tersebut tanpa perlu memasukkan password-nya.

Untuk melakukannya, Anda membutuhkan tool bernama CHNTWP (Change NT Password), Utiliti CHNTWP tersedia di alamat http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/ dan dapat anda gunakan secara cuma-cuma. Selain dapat melakukan reset terhadap password setiap user yang ada sistem operasi berbasis Windows NT, anda juga tidak perlu mengingat-ngingat password lama masing-masing user.

Restore my files merupakan sebuah tool yang kecil untuk mengembalikan data/dokumen (Microsoft word and excel, juga power point 97-2003) yang terinfeksi oleh virus. Sampai saat ini tool ini dapat mengembalikan dokumen dengan baik. Tetapi jika virus berkembang dan mengubah metode yang digunakan, mungkin tool ini perlu di update. Maka pastikan untuk mengecek secara teratur di web site.

Jika file berhasil direstore tetapi dengan ekstensi *.dat, itu berarti tool ini belum dapat mengenali jenis file tersebut. Bisa saja doc, xls atau ppt, dan anda tinggal rename dengan yang sesuai, atau juga dapat dikirimkan file yang terinfeksi atau file .dat tersebut via email, sehingga dapat saya cek untuk mengupdate tool ini.

Saya merekomendasikan untuk memilih “Rename files” ketika merestore file, dan jika hasilnya OK, baru file tersebut dihapus.
Tool ini juga dapat digunakan untuk mencari file dengan cepat, menghapus dan merename hasilnya.
